The Superbaseball season culminated in the finals series, where Tampere Tigers took the championship with a 3-0 victory. Although Puumat fought bravely, Tigers was stronger this time and deservedly took the Finnish championship.

Puumat wants to extend huge thanks to everyone who helped make the season possible – sponsors, Ruutu+, volunteers, the league, umpires, and everyone who keeps Finnish baseball alive. Also warm thanks to Tigers, Expos and Metsät for tough games during the regular season as well as fans for their support and encouragement throughout the season.

Although the championship was not achieved this time, the season was a success in many ways: Puumat won the regular season and showed that the team still belongs at the absolute top of Finnish baseball.

“We got silver now, but the hunger remains – next season we’ll return even stronger!”
See you again next spring on the fields!
