Series

The Puumat play in the Superbaseball league (national championship level). Many of our players played baseball abroad as youngsters and continued the hobby after moving to Finland. In addition, our team includes players who previously played Finnish pesäpallo and who learned baseball in Finland. The national championship season is played in a multiple-round league format, giving each team 12–16 games in the regular season. The regular season begins in May and continues into August. The playoffs are played at the beginning of September, deciding the championship.

Puumat's league teams Devils and Hawks play at a lower series level, the Fat Lizard league. In 2026, eight teams will play in the series. Devils, Hawks and Puumat mainly train together. Devils and Hawks are suitable for beginner players, developing young players and those who want to keep playing at an older age. In this sport, young prospects in particular have good opportunities to develop and play at the national team level and possibly also find playing spots abroad, or travel with the club team to Eurocup games.

For example, with a background in Finnish baseball (pesäpallo) you can rise to the top of the league if you have enough enthusiasm for training. Baseball can offer its players a versatile development path at the international level, which can even lead to a professional career.

Junior activities

The club launched a junior team called Puumat Cubs in the autumn of 2025, following its hugely popular summer camp. The group includes 20–30 children aged 7–13. No prior experience is required. Cubs is a fun and international team where you can make new friends and develop teamwork skills under the guidance of experienced coaches.

There may be changes to the training schedule from week to week, as games are sometimes played during training slots.

In addition, you can freely practice in the batting cage and bullpen at the Myllypuro field, as long as you clean up after yourself.
