Hawks

A new development team returning to the club’s roots.

Hawks is Baseball-Puumat's new team, which began competitive play in the Fat Lizard League in the 2026 season. The team serves as a platform for younger and developing players and trains in close cooperation with its sister team, Devils.

The Hawks name is deeply rooted in history. In the early 1980s, a team called the Wrangler Hawks operated in Finland, taking its name from its parent club, Katajanokan Haukat. The Wrangler Hawks made history by winning Finland's first-ever national baseball championship in 1981. That pioneering team also gave rise to what later became Baseball-Puumat. Now the Hawks return to the field as a modern, development-focused team.

During the winter season, the Hawks train regularly at the Pallomylly indoor facility on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM. The club also organizes tryout sessions for new and interested players who wish to join the Puumat player pathway.
