Puumat is Finland's most established and international baseball and softball club. Our players come from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds, united by their passion for baseball. Currently, our players range in age from approximately 15 to 40.
Our club has four baseball teams competing at different levels:
- Puumat – Superbaseball team and 2026 Finnish Champions
- Mets – Superbaseball team
- Hawks – Farm team
- Devils – Farm team
In 2026, Puumat won the Finnish Championship. Our goal is to provide players with opportunities to develop their skills, compete, and enjoy baseball at a level that suits their abilities and ambitions.
We Train Year-Round
The baseball season runs from May to September, with approximately 15 regular-season games followed by the playoffs.
During the winter, we train at indoor facilities to prepare for the upcoming season. From February to April, we also compete in an indoor baseball league in Kerava, providing valuable game experience and helping our teams prepare for the summer season.
Tryouts for New Players
We are recruiting new players for all four teams for the 2027 season. Both experienced baseball players and athletes who are new to the sport are welcome to apply.
Prospective players will be invited to a tryout session lasting approximately 1–2 hours. During the session, our coaches will assess fundamental baseball skills, including:
- Hitting
- Throwing
- Fielding and catching
- General athletic abilities
Following the tryout, our coaching staff will recommend the team that best matches each player's skill level and personal goals.
Our aim is to find a suitable place in the club for every motivated player. Previous baseball experience is an advantage, but what matters most is a genuine interest in the sport and a willingness to learn.
