Wrangler Hawks and Jasuko Giants Delivered a Baseball Classic in Myllypuro

Yesterday at the Myllypuro baseball field, there was a true sense of nostalgia and sporting celebration as legendary teams Wrangler Hawks and Jasuko Giants met in a memorable friendly match.

The weather was favorable, and the stands filled with an enthusiastic crowd who enjoyed both delicious BBQ dishes and nostalgic 80s music. The day’s atmosphere was warm and communal – like a time travel to the early decades of Finnish baseball.

The game itself offered excitement right to the end. After a six-inning battle, the scoreboard showed a tie at 13-13, giving both teams’ supporters reason to smile. Selected as the game’s best players were Terho Tiihonen from Wrangler Hawks and Jarkko Juutilainen from Jasuko Giants, both of whom delivered excellent performances both at bat and in the field.

Wrangler Hawks is Finland’s first baseball champion from 1981, while Jasuko Giants represents the traditional nostalgia team of the Japanese Finnish school. The event united generations and showed that the spirit of baseball in Finland lives on strong – both on the field and in the stands.

Warm thanks to everyone who helped make this wonderful day possible!
