Competition

Puumat plays in the Finnish championship league called Superbaseball. Baseball is a small sport in Finland, with 3 to 6 teams playing in the championship league each year. Players here are amateurs playing for fun and the enjoyment of the game. Many of our players played baseball growing up in their home country and decided to continue the hobby after moving here. There are also lots of players with a finnish baseball background.

Playing season lasts from May to the beginning of September. Teams have 12-16 games during the scheduled season. Best teams of the season continue to playoffs.

Players naturalized here with citizenship have a chance to play with the Finnish national team. For those interested there are also possibilities to play with other European teams if the competitiveness here isnt great enough.

In addition, Helsinki Devils play in the division Fat Lizard league. In 2024 seven teams participated in the league. Division games are usually arranged as tournament days during the weekends. Devils is a suitable team for players of all levels, including those interested in trying out baseball or just playing without pressures.
