Join the Helsinki Puumat – Finland’s Most Iconic Baseball Club!

Helsinki Puumat Baseball Club is Finland’s most historic and culturally diverse baseball organization. The team competes in the Superbaseball League, having won the regular season and earned the silver medal in the playoffs this past year.

The baseball season runs from May to September, featuring ca. 15 regular-season games and playoffs. Players currently range from 18 to 40 years old, and the club welcomes both experienced players and newcomers to the sport.

During the winter season, Puumat practices indoors at Pallomylly Hall on Wednesdays and at Urhea Hall on Sundays  Additional practice games are held at Myllyhalli and training sessions at facilities such as Playbox.

The team is now recruiting new players for the 2026 season!
Player suitability is evaluated during a tryout session, where participants demonstrate their basic baseball skills — hitting, throwing, and catching — in a 1–2 hour session. Registration is done through an online form, after which the coaches will contact applicants to arrange the exact tryout time.

Puumat’s farm team, the Helsinki Devils, is also looking for new players. After the tryout, the coaching staff will recommend the most suitable team for each participant’s skill level.

The most important thing is a genuine interest in baseball – and we’ll help you find your place on the field!
